Echoes of Dread – Horror Character Concept Exploration Series

This project is a focused character concept exploration for an early-stage psychological horror game prototype.

The goal was to create emotionally charged, unsettling characters that communicate tone, narrative tension, and escalating dread through silhouette, costume, posture, and controlled anatomical distortion.

Each character was designed starting from grounded realism, then iterated through subtle unease into more disturbing variations. The emphasis throughout this series was:

Strong, readable silhouettes

Costume and material authenticity

Emotional storytelling through posture and expression

Progressive horror escalation (subtle → uncanny → disturbing)

Presentation-ready character sheets for production use

Rather than relying on shock value, this series explores psychological tension, environmental storytelling, and restrained body horror to establish a cohesive visual language suitable for a narrative-driven horror experience.

All concepts include full-body explorations, mood iterations, expression studies, and callout sheets to demonstrate production thinking and adaptability.
